Citrus Rosé G & T - Pretty in Pink!

You'll have it made in the shade when you use edible flowers to garnish this simple, seasonal rose cocktail.

You'll have it made in the shade when you use edible flowers to garnish this simple, seasonal rose cocktail.

We've recently added this lovely little Citrus Rosé Gin by Denver-based Deviation Distilling to our bar carts and we wanted to share the word with all of you! Although we love experimenting with new or classic cocktails, it's also perfectly fine to keep it simple when you come across quality liquors with exciting flavors - and obviously we are suckers for anything floral. This pink gin has a floral flavor complimented by citrus and lavender - we know you're going to love it!

Here, we've just added a few dashes of grapefruit bitters and a quality Fever-Tree Tonic Water, but the secret is in the garnishing. We keep little mason jars of course organic sugar and dried petals from our favorite edible flowers - rose, lavender, marigold, etc. - on a shelf for occasions such as this. UPDATE - We've made this easier than ever now with our Sweet Rose Finishing Sugar.

To rim a cocktail glass:

1. Lay out the finishing sugar.

2. Moisten the rim - we generally use lemon juice but work with what you have

3. Turn the glass upside down and dip it in to the sugar mixture, or lay an entire edge into the sugar mixture for a different look.

And, if it is still really hot where you are - try a Frosé G & T...

Frosé G & T

Recipe:

* 1 cup Deviation Distilling Citrus Rosé Gin

* 1/4 cup fresh citrus juice - such as lemon, grapefruit, lime, etc.

* 3 cups quality tonic - we always pick Fever-Tree!

* 2 cups ice

* Garnish of your choice - citrus wheels or wedges, edible flowers, and sugared rims!

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Scoop into four prepared glasses and ENJOY!

Cheers!
