Recipes and Inspiration For An Easy Summer Cocktail or Mocktail
Well, it's officially summer and the sun is here to stay awhile. What better way to escape the heat than by sipping on a refreshing glass of lemonade? We're going to show you how to use Blackberry Lavender Simple Syrup to easily transform your grandmother's basic lemonade into an easy, refreshing summer cocktail or mocktail!
This is one of those recipes that you can easily batch and keep in the fridge or make fresh when you are looking for a quick, seasonal drink. We're keeping things extra easy by sticking with store bought lemonade - we chose Newman's Own because it is a little less sweet than other brands but we suggest you use your favorite!
Tools:
-
A basic bar kit - drink shaker with a screen, bar spoon for muddling, and a jigger for measuring.
-
A tall glass.
-
A small plate for sugar to rim your glass.
Ingredients:
-
Whiskey - we like Bulleit Bourbon or Breckenridge if you are a Colorado Local
-
Lemonade
-
4-5 Fresh Blackberries
-
Flouwer Co. Lavender Finishing Sugar
-
Lemon for garnish
Instructions:
The magic here is that you can make this as strong as you'd like. If you prefer, omit the whiskey for a zero proof mocktail, or make it a double! This recipe is easy to mix and scale to your own taste.
Step 1 - Rim Your Glass
Take your glass and rim it with a small amount of the Blackberry Simple Syrup, we find even a drizzle on a small plate will do the trick. Then finish by dipping the rim in our Lavender Finishing Sugar. This combination makes for a colorful and tasty rim! Fill your glass with ice and drizzle in 1-2 tablespoons of the Simple Syrup Mixture. Garnish with a lemon slice either in your glass or on the rim.
Step 2 - Mix Your Drink
In a cocktail shaker, muddle 3 blackberries with 1 tablespoon of our Lavender Finishing Sugar. Top with ice and whiskey if you choose. Shake well before straining gently into your prepared glass. Finish it off by pouring in the lemonade toss in any remaining blackberries.
Cheers!
