Hi, I’m Kristen. I am half of Flouwer Co. I was born in Denver, graduated from the University of Kansas, spent my 20’s living in Chicago, and moved back to Denver in 2014. My husband, V, is the calm to my storm and I have two young children, a daughter and a son, that are so incredible had I not given birth to them myself, I wouldn’t believe they came from an earthly being - I am not taking credit for their incredible-ness, it has just always been inside of them.
I love food - all food, I am an equal opportunity eater. I love cocktails, I love binge watching television shows, and I just want to cut loose and laugh because I feel like we never find enough time to just do that. I love to travel and like to read but haven’t been able to prioritize either as much as I would like. I am a Taurus, I am way too wordy in my writing (which may come to drive all of you nuts), and I vibrate on all frequencies when I’m in the desert.
I wasn’t always interested in cooking or gardening. I guess you could call me a late bloomer. In my mid-20’s I became interested in experimenting with new recipes and entertaining friends as a way of recreating the food and lifestyles I saw on the pages of magazines. Nowadays, I love food blogs, food photography, elaborate decorating and entertaining for the holidays, as well as cooking beautiful and creative dishes.
I spent the entirety of my career up to now in Finance. I wasn’t bad at any of my jobs, I just wasn’t interested and was probably more of a distraction to my co-workers than anything else because I just wanted to chat about anything other than work. I love dreaming up new ideas for making things tasty and beautiful, especially with edible flowers. I am an expert in executing a perfect Pinterest Fail which is why I’m committed to keeping it as simple as possible here for all of you. I’m not totally sure what else I should say here in my intro, and hopefully more of me will come through in these blog posts, and please read through Theresa’s introduction because she truly is my partner in crime, the yin to my yang, the ping to my pong - we got this!
Cheers!
Kristen
